Four Key Statements

David McPherson

This past week I visited a Christian who in recent months has not been faithful. I shared with her several passages of scripture to call attention to her serious condition. Among the verses we considered, there were four key statements we greatly emphasized. If you are a Christian who is struggling, please heed these four key statements.

1. Mt. 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness..." If you are not putting God and the things of God first in your life you are doomed for hell. God is first - or not at all.

2. Rom. 12:1 "...present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." What sacrifices have you made for the Lord lately? Isn’t heaven worth it?

3. Rev. 2:10 "...be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." No faithfulness, no crown. This "on again / off again" business is for the birds. The Lord wants dedicated servants to the end.

4. Acts 8:22 "Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God..." If you have need, repent while there’s time. Repent or perish.

Life is too short and heaven is too precious to be unfaithful.
