Hell Fire

David McPherson

I continue to be amazed by different ones who water down hell. Friend, hell is real. It is an awful place and I don’t want to go. Rather than listen to the modern "fool-osophies" of men, take God’s word on the matter.

The Bible describes the punishment of the wicked as a casting into fire. Jesus said, "The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth" (Mt. 13:41-42).

But just how long will the fires of hell burn? Jesus, speaking of the final judgment taught "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" (Mt. 25:41). Everlasting fire is never ending. Hell fire will burn, and burn, and burn, and burn, etc.

Everlasting fire, really? Without a doubt! "And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched" (Mk. 9:45). Unquenchable, everlasting, furnace of fire - that’s hell. You don’t want to go there.
