Erasing The Blackboard

Michael Pickford

When I was in school as a small child, I used to think it was marvelous how the teacher could run that felt block over the chalk board and the writing would magically disappear. We would get a big kick out of it when the teacher would let us erase the chalk board. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could go back into your past with a big eraser and do some clearing away? Guess what? You can! We can totally erase and clear away every sin we have ever commited. Not with a felt block, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Revelation 1:5 Tells us that Christ has “...washed us from our sins in His own blood.” Saul (Paul) was told in Acts 22:16 to “Arise, and be baptized, washing away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord. If the Bible says both the blood of Christ and baptism washes away sins, the only conclusion we can draw is that through baptism we contact the blood of Christ and our sins are washed away! Yes, through Baptism, you can erase the chalk board of your past. Obey Christ! (Hebrews 5:8,9)
