Call Home

These parents had a son who had a terrible habit of not calling home. Whenever he was out past his curfew, he would not call home to tell them he was alright. When he went to college, he would not call home to tell them he was OK. When he got married, he rarely called home to let them know how he was doing. These poor parents suffered a lot of upset and unsettling moments because their son simply would not call home. It wasn’t that the boy had no access to a phone, for everyone has great access these days. Most of us can pick up some type of phone and use it regardless of where we are. What about us? We have an open line to the Father. We have constant access to our Father in heaven. And through Christ, it’s toll free! There’s never a time when we can’t “Take it to the Lord in Prayer.” It’s unsettling to God whenever His children don’t call upon Him on a regular basis. So I urge you, lift your eyes to heaven and call home! “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17).
