Homosexuality

Homosexuality plagues our nation. There was a time when anyone who dared practice this deviant sexual behavior did so in private. Now, we hear about “Gay rights,” “Gay Pride,” etc.. These people are actually proud of their “alternate lifestyle.” What does God’s word say? The Bible says that homosexuality is against God’s original plan for sexual behavior. In Genesis 2:21-25, we learn that God made for Adam Eve, not Steve. God made for man a woman, not another man. This is God’s plan! Jesus enjoined this plan in Matthew 19:4-6. Homosexuality is also an abomination in God’s eyes, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination” (Lev. 18:22). Folks today may find it acceptable behavior, but God views it as an abomination! This deviant practice is also against nature. Anyone with a basic understanding of the human anatomy of a man and a woman can see that homosexuality isn’t natural. Many schools are teaching our children that it is natural, but the Bible says, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due” (Rom. 1:26,27). We also learn from this passage that homosexuality is shameful. Those who practice it should not be proud; it’s shameful behavior! What mother in her right mind would proudly proclaim that her son is “gay?” Also, from this passage, we learn that homosexuality brings physical destruction. They “receive in themselves the penalty for their error which was due.” All types of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, have been traced to homosexuality. And don’t forget the physical destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah brought on partly by homosexuality (Gen. 19:5-7, 24-28). The worst consequence brought on by this vile sin is the lose of the soul. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, gives a list of those who “...will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Included are “homosexuals,” and “sodomites.” The Greek word for “homosexuals” describes “catamites,” those who submit to homosexuals; that is, the one who acts like the woman. The word for “sodomites” indicates the dominate one. So, any type of homosexuality is condemned here. Also, these words indicate those who commit this sin willingly, just as those in Romans 1:26,27 when it describes them burning in their lust for one another. It’s consensual! Many homosexuals call themselves “Christians,” maintaining the Bible only condemns forced homosexuality (i.e. rape). But the Bible plainly condemns consensual homosexuality. Altogether, God condemns homosexuality!
